Khadi – The Revolutionary Fabric premiered at Frankfurt Fashion Week at Frankfurt Fashion Lounge in the Couture Autumn Winter 2022 segment, as an ode to the land Deepika Khatri hails from.

 

A collection where the khadi, India’s fabric to freedom and invaluable contribution to sustainable fashion, meets the elegant and intricate embroidery technique of Chikankari unique to Lucknow. 

 

Khadi is a natural fibre cloth, which is hand-spun and woven. It was promoted by Mahatma Gandhi during the Indian independence movement. Apart from this historic and heritage status, khadi is also preferred for being a zero carbon-footprint fabric.

 

Our unique collection coupled the revolutionary khadi with the elegant and artistic hand-embroidery technique from Lucknow, India, in a clever and modern amalgamation, aiming to build a strong bond between the people who wear it and those who make it.
